Content Integration: FLI
Learner Description: University aged students studying English
Using the Internet for Foreign Language Learning
Problem: Students are uninspired to learn English as a foreign language. They feel like it is too hard and they see no point in learning. They do not enjoy studying English
Integration strategy: The teacher will use the internet to explore the world outside of the native country with an emphasis on English as a key to the world. Materials will also be presented that offer enjoyment to the students through video, ebooks and language instruction.
Relative Advantage: Students will see that English has a place in their lives. They will see that it can be fun to explore and will unlock possibilities later in life.
Expected Outcome: Student motivation will increase and they will explore the internet for English education purposes on their own.

Tool Based Software
Problem: Students study countless vocabulary words yet have little ability in using them correctly in terms of word form and choice.
Integration strategy: In order for students to better understand the use of words, students will create a list of words, their possible word forms and examples of sentences they have found or created. This can be done in Google Docs and can be private or could be kept and added to as a class.
Relative advantage: Students will be able to quickly access their document from any computer and have multiple example of the words usage. They can then apply this to work they are preparing or it can help them study for tests. In Korea at least, this would also be helpful as most students have smart phones and they could easily review their word list while mobile.
Tool: Google Docs
Instructional Software
Problem: Students have limited face time with instructors and often this is the only time they will use English in a day or week.
Integration Strategy: The teacher will show students drill-and-practice as well as game sites to students.
Relative Advantage: Students can expand upon the limited time they have with their instructor by spending time with instructional software. They will have the opportunity to practice the language learned in class and play interesting games that help retention.
Expected Outcomes: Students will retain more and advance quicker using instructional software.
Instructional Software Tool: www.teflgames.com,www.brainpopesl.com
Productivity Software
Problem: Students everywhere seem to have reservations where the writing process is concerned. This is no different for FLI students; maybe even more so. Students procrastinate and submit final drafts that need much revision.
Integration Strategy: Teachers will use concept maps such as Venn and mind maps, as well as organizational charts to demonstrate how students can use the writing process to their advantage.
Relative Advantage: Online mapping and organizational tools can be fun and keep ideas clean and neat and easy to use by the students.
Expected Outcomes: Students will use the writing process and in so doing, create better writing.
